RISE Dispensaries Ignite Minnesota’s Adult-Use Cannabis Market with September 17 Launch

RISE Dispensaries, owned by Green Thumb Industries Inc., is set to make a significant mark on Minnesota’s evolving cannabis landscape by launching adult-use cannabis sales at five of its locations across the state on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. This expansion marks a crucial step in Minnesota’s journey toward a fully functional recreational cannabis market, which legalized adult-use sales in 2023.

Minnesota’s Expanding Cannabis Market

Minnesota’s path to legal recreational cannabis has been progressing since the state’s initial legalization in 2023. The Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) has been actively issuing licenses, allowing established medical cannabis providers like RISE Dispensaries and Green Goods to also serve adult-use consumers. This phased approach aims to stabilize supply and pricing as the market matures. The launch by RISE Dispensaries is part of a broader trend of non-tribal retailers commencing sales, following initial openings by tribal nations.

While these five locations are the first to offer adult-use sales, additional RISE locations in Baxter and St. Paul are expected to follow soon, with St. Cloud slated for the week of October 6.

Green Thumb Industries’ Commitment to Minnesota

Green Thumb Industries Inc., a leading national cannabis company, has been an integral part of the Minnesota medical cannabis community since acquiring LeafLine Industries in 2021. This acquisition provided Green Thumb with a cultivation facility and five retail locations, laying the groundwork for its expansion into the adult-use market. Anthony Georgiadis, President of Green Thumb, expressed excitement about this historic day, stating, “Our team is looking forward to introducing more Minnesotans to our industry-leading brands including RYTHM, Beboe, and Dogwalkers, while continuing to prioritize medical patients with the trusted service they expect from RISE”. Customers can expect a variety of products, including RYTHM flower, Beboe gummies, and Dogwalkers pre-rolls.

Supporting Communities Through Philanthropy

In alignment with its commitment to the communities it serves, Green Thumb Industries is donating a portion of the first day’s profits from adult-use sales to two local non-profit organizations: the Balanced Veterans Network and Metro Meals on Wheels. The Balanced Veterans Network focuses on connecting veterans with alternative therapies and wellness, offering community, advocacy, and education, including initiatives like Operation 1620. Metro Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals and essential human connection to seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities metro area, helping them maintain independence. Furthermore, Green Thumb is contributing to the Annunciation Hope & Healing Fund through the Minneapolis Foundation to support those affected by recent community tragedies.

A New Era for Cannabis in Minnesota

The launch of adult-use sales at RISE Dispensaries signifies a pivotal moment for Minnesota. It reflects the state’s commitment to establishing a regulated and accessible cannabis market, offering consumers safe, tested products while simultaneously supporting vital community organizations. This development is trending positively as the state works to build a robust and responsible cannabis economy.
